Rayong Bustee, a Quirky Destination in Sikkim Google Map Will Not Tell You About

The snow-white peaks peeping beyond a dense thicket of verdant conifers is no more restrained to just pages of your drawing book. Nature has bookmarked it in a picturesque mountainous settlement of Sikkim named Rayong.

    Rayong Bustee: Where Is It?

The road connecting Namchi to Ravangla, in South Sikkim, bends through the Rayong Bustee.  The road skirts along slopes of marvelously green and towering pines.

It's a small organic hamlet comprising of all the necessary amenities, a school, a church, a playground and a lot many houses, all colorful in their own shades. In the midst of the normal, there is this pine forest overseeing the serpentine grey road.

You Have to See It, To Believe It

Some places are indeed best kept off the map. A land whose tranquil loveliness is quite unmistakeably the personal favorite of Mother Nature. Standing in the mists of the colossal woods, one is bound to get amazed by the details of Nature's disposition. Time stands still in the shadows. All you notice is the serenity here. A hushed wonder that makes it an enchanted zone, all the same. It seems to be a place where man is almost a misfit. But look closer, and you would find houses and sheds.

Starting off from Namchi towards Ravangla, Google Map or TripAdvisor would recommend an identified place called Rayong Sunrise Viewpoint; wherefrom the view of the majestic Kanchendzonga is amazing. As the name suggests, here the first rays of the day dance over the valley in a jaw-dropping display.

The "Rayong Sunrise Viewpoint" is engraved onto the railed retaining wall by the roadside. It would seldom fail to catch the attention of the passer-by. A climb through the stairs (concealed under grass) would lead all the way to the top, to a patchy resting place. A word of caution here, the ascent is through spiny bushes.

    Best Season to Visit

Visiting in late November or early December add another hue to the palette of Nature, the Pink of Cherry Blossoms.
The azure blue meets the lush green with spots of whites and pinks in layers here. Rayong, even though has not acquired itself a place in the Google map, is a flamboyant melange of Nature's portrayal of equilibrium.

    Reach Rayong

If you are planning to visit Sikkim soon, this is on way to Ravangla. One can get a car from Namchi, South Sikkim to reach here. From Gangtok, one has to take a detour via Singtam and Temi tea gardens.
